Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

This policy explains how AeroSolar Australia ("we", "us", "our") collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information when you use aerosolaraustralia.com, request a quote or buy a solar or battery system from us. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What we collect

• Contact details: name, email, mobile number
• Property details: street address, postcode, state, roof type, whether you own the home, and (if you proceed) roof photos and your meter/NMI details
• Energy details: your approximate quarterly bill or usage, and (if you share it) a copy of your electricity bill
• Quote and order details: the system you configure, prices, contract and payment records
• If you apply for finance: the fact that you applied and the outcome. Your credit application itself is made directly with the finance provider and handled under their privacy policy
• After installation: system serial numbers, installation photos, compliance certificates and, if you link it, production data from your inverter
• Messages you send us, and technical data needed to protect our forms from spam (IP address and browser type)

We collect this information from you directly. We do not currently use advertising pixels or analytics cookies on this website. If we add them, we will update this policy first.

3. Why we collect it

• To prepare your quote and contact you about it
• To design, sell, install and support your system, including applying government incentives (such as STCs) and network connection approvals on your behalf
• To process payments and refunds
• To send you information about our products, but only if you tick the marketing box (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To meet our legal obligations and to protect against fraud and spam

If you don't give us your contact and property details, we can't prepare a quote or install a system for you.

4. Who we share it with

We disclose personal information only where it is needed for the purposes above:

• Accredited installers we engage for your job: the details needed to assess, schedule and install your system
• Finance providers, only if you choose to apply for finance through us
• Your electricity distributor (network) and energy retailer, for grid connection approval and meter changes
• Government incentive bodies and our STC agent, including the Clean Energy Regulator, to claim small-scale technology certificates and any state incentives
• Service providers that run our systems, listed in section 5
• Regulators or law enforcement, where the law requires it

We do not sell personal information, and we do not give your details to other businesses for their own marketing.

5. Where it is stored, and overseas disclosure

Your quote and lead records are stored in Australia (Sydney data centres). Some of our service providers are based overseas and may access or process information outside Australia:

• Vercel Inc. (USA): website and database hosting; data is stored in its Sydney region
• Resend Inc. (USA): delivery of emails, including the notification we receive when you submit a form
• Stripe (Australia/USA), once online payments open: card payment processing

We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers handle personal information consistently with the APPs.

6. Automated quotes

Our online configurator automatically estimates a system size and price from the details you enter, using published tariffs, solar data and our price list. The assumptions are shown with every estimate. An estimate is not a final offer. A person reviews your roof and design before we confirm a final price.

7. Security

We protect personal information with encryption in transit, private (non-public) storage and access limited to staff and contractors who need it. Installers can only see the jobs assigned to them. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

8. How long we keep it

If you don't go ahead, we delete or de-identify your enquiry within 24 months of our last contact with you. If you buy a system, we keep the records for as long as warranty, incentive and tax laws require (generally at least 7 years).

9. Marketing

We only send you marketing emails or SMS if you have agreed to receive them. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe. Service messages about your quote, order or installation are not marketing and will still be sent.

10. Access and correction

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing privacy@aerosolaraustralia.com. We will respond within 30 days. You can also ask us to delete an enquiry you no longer want us to keep.

11. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email privacy@aerosolaraustralia.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
